Week beginning 1-6-20

For the next few weeks we will be exploring how the same phoneme can sound different in a word. We call these " alternative pronounciations". It sounds tricky but it's not really once you get started.

This week we will look at how i has a different pronunciation in a range of words. 

Look at and read the words in the powerpoint below. Can you hear the different sound that i makes in the words?

Then play the game of Acorn Adventures listening for the sounds of i in the words.
