For your science project this week and over the Easter break, I want you to do some research into nutrition and which foods are good for us and which can be bad for us if we eat them too often. Then have a look at the videos below. You are going to take on the role of members of a Scientific Advisory Committee and decide if this new snack bar should be banned (mot allowed to be sold), licensed (allowed to be sold) or endorsed allowed to be sold and supported by the committee).
Start by completing the 'pros and cons' table below (under 'Lesson Resources') to help you decide what the pros and cons are of the new snack bar. Use the video 'Snack Bar' to help you.
Next, I want you to write a letter to the Government to tell them if you have decided to ban, license or endorse the snack bar and your reasons WHY. Make sure you use your research about nutrition when you give your reasons.
There are lots of resources below to help you with your research and your letter writing.
I can't wait to read your letters!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
