Today is World Ocean day, and as we know, lots of things are endangering the ocean habitat!
Pollution, Over fishing, global warming and over populating are just a few of the problems that the environment faces.
I would like you explore the website: https://ocean.si.edu/conservation/solutions-success-stories/endangered-ocean and find out about the endangered species within the ocean.
Make notes and think about how the organisation is trying to help and what difference you could make?
Choose an endangered marine life species and create your own list of questions to research. Think of the 5w's to help you: What are they? Where do they live? Why are they endangered? When did they become endangered? What are the possible solutions to help the species? Who are the organisation that help them?
Then research your chosen topic.
Think about how you can spread the word to others: Leaflets, letters, posters?
You are going to design your own little campaign to save your chosen species.
Look at the example letters, leaflets, web pages and posters included in the resources section to help you identify features to make your campaign more successful. You could even write and present your own mini documentary or speech if you are feeling ambitious!
Share your work with one of the KS2 staff via email - I cannot wait to see them!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
