Verbs -ing and -ed
We add the suffixes -ed and -ing to change the tense of words (-ing for present tense and -ed for the past) eg. if the base verb is bake, the present tense is baking and the past tense is baked.
Bake me a cake
I am baking a cake
I baked a cake yesterday
Sometimes the root word needs to be changed e.g. removing the e in bake before adding the ending -ing or -ed.
