This week, we are going to write a version of the story above.
Listen to the story Possom Magic.
Who do you think the audience is for this story? Where is the story set? How do you know?
I would like you to write a plan for this story as though you were the author: summarise what happened at the beginning, build up, climax, resolution and ending.
What language has the author used to make the story more interesting?
Is there anything factual in this story that you noticed?
As you have discovered, this story is not based in the UK, we know this because of certain features, that you have hopefully identified in step 1. I would like you now to plan a similar story for a similar audience based in the UK. What are you going to change in your story? What might you keep the same? Use the story planner in the resources section to help you plan your story and remember to add adverbials and ambitious vocabulary. (The original story contained alliteration and rhyming too - can you do this?)
Draft your story and ensure you have thought about your punctuation, sentence structure and language!
Edit your story checking spelling and making sure that it all makes sense.
This step involves ICT - you can either illustrate your story by taking pictures and adding them to a word processed story or you can use 'book creator' on the Ipad to create your own little ebook.
Powerpoint and slide show are also options. Have fun with this story and we can share them with the infants!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
