Values for Life Resources:
If you would like to build in some acts of kindness and still be 'advocates of change' at this time... take a look at the following resources.
MAST Collective worship : LIVE!!!!
Watch Michael and Mr Grumpy every day from 11am!
There are two opportunities:
1. Daily live stream at 11am. This is a general live stream from my Facebook page - Facebook.com/michaeljtinker. I'll be singing songs about Jesus, reading from the Bible, answering questions (people can post as I stream!) and finishing with a prayer.
You can also watch again later both on Facebook and YouTube.com/michaeltinker
2. Zoom/skype call. I'd love to do a Q&A (and maybe some songs) with your children if you'd be interested. We can arrange a time that suites us both and link up! A great opportunity for children to have learn more about the Bible and have fun at the same time!
Dear all,
We hope you are all well and managing to keep yourselves safe.
We are trying to devise a way to keep the children going, with lots of tasks they can complete at home so that they continue to learn. This is not without difficulty, since most pieces of work require teaching input, which is rather tricky in the current situation.
We have decided to use the Monyash website since we can post work straight on to this; our understanding is that you are able to post on it too. We have put quite a few pieces of work suggestions on it today - there should be plenty for the whole week. We will add new English and maths tasks for the week ahead every Monday. However, do not feel your child has to complete everything - it is extremely difficult to work from home and keep on top of your child's work, as we have discovered! There is also a suggested timetable for parents/carers who find this helpful. Again, the expectation is not that everyone should follow this - do whatever is helpful for you and your child/ren. We are more than happy to check any work that is emailed to us or posted on the Monyash website and would love to see any tasks the children complete. There are plenty of ideas on the internet for alternative pieces of work - don't feel restricted to the suggestions we post on the website if your child finds a different piece of work that enthuses them.
This whole situation is rather overwhelming for us all - so please just do what you can and email us if you need any help. We appreciate that it may be difficult for some families to photograph/scan work - a message to let us know what your child is doing will be more than enough if this is the case.
It is really important that your child continues to stay in contact with their friends (via social media/telephone) and gets fresh air and exercise. We know this is trickier than it sounds at present, but the social aspects of schooling that the children will be missing are as important, if not more so, than the actual work.
We are here if you need us - although struggling somewhat with temperamental internet connections so if you contact us please be patient.
We look forward to hearing from you. Stay in touch and take care.
Best wishes,
Ms McCluskey and Mrs Gotheridge
